Complete your wellness activities by May 31, 2024 for your premium discounts to be applied for July 1, 2024.
Wellness Incentive Program
Without good health, you cannot be your best self at home, at play, or at work. As an employee with the City of Portland, you have access to several programs and perks to keep you well, mentally, physically, and financially.
The City of Portland offers our Employee Wellness Program in partnership with OMC. By participating in this program and completing all of the required wellness activities, you can receive up to a 15% discount on your individual health plan premiums.
Getting Started
1. Register or login
Start by visiting cityofportland.wellnessworkdays.com and register or log on to access everything the wellness program has to offer. Note: you do not need to re-register if you participated in the program last year.
How do I register?
- Visit cityofportland.wellnessworkdays.com
- Scroll down to NEW USERS and click REGISTER, then click ACCEPT at the bottom of the privacy notices
- Enter cityofportland (one word, no spaces) in the Company field
- Enter your Member ID, which is your 5-digit employee ID number
- Click REGISTER
- Create a password, then log in!
2. Complete your Biometric Screening
This is required to get the full 15% incentive!
This can either be completed through OMC, or by visiting your own PCP (primary care provider). In-network preferred provider PCP visits are fully covered with a $0 copay through our health insurance. If your PCP completes your biometric screening, just have them fill out THIS form and submit it through the wellness portal for credit.
OMC will be scheduling a variety of onsite visits so you can easily complete this activity during the work day if you would like.
*NOTE –If you do not complete your screening, you can still earn a 12% 3 discount off of your health premiums by completing four other activities No health data will be submitted to the City regarding your biometric results, only acknowledgment that you have completed the activity.
3. Complete up to four additional wellness activities
Complete up to four different wellness activities on or before May 31st, 2024 to earn the remaining 12% discount and achieve the full 15% wellness incentive! Review the OMC wellness flyer for other additional activities options.
4. Celebrate
In addition to good health and free health coaching, you can earn up to a 15% contribution to your medical insurance premium! This means you could pay $0 towards your medical insurance premium. For a single employee on the health plan, you could save over $1,500 per year!

Wellness Reimbursements

The City offers employees an additional reimbursement for out-of-pocket costs toward physical wellness or exercise.
Gym Memberships & Subscription Fees
Local gym? Yoga studio? Meditation app? If you have a recurring wellness-related subscription fee, the City will reimburse you up to $25 per month to help cover the costs.
Fitness Equipment
If you prefer to work out from home and would like to order equipment such as a treadmill or free weights, the City will reimburse up to, $300 per calendar year for equipment, fitness trackers, race entry fees, ski passes, state park passes, etc.
*Please note: employees can EITHER take advantage of the $25 per month gym membership reimbursement, OR one-time, $300 reimbursement for at-home fitness equipment or event fees. Both cannot be submitted in the same year.
Perks and Memberships
The City runs some fabulous recreation facilities, and City employees can take advantage of some of these opportunities for FREE!
RIVERSIDE GOLF COURSE MEMBERSHIP DISCOUNT
Riverside golf course features an 18-hole course, a 9-hole course and a 3-hole practice course. Current benefit eligible City employees can receive a FREE, limited golf course membership. Please note this applies to employees only – additional guests and family will be charged regular rates.
Memberships are valid for both the north and south course, and valid during the following days and times:
- Monday through Friday between 9:00am – 2:30pm
- Saturday, Sunday, holidays after 12:00pm
Alternatively, any City employee can purchase an unlimited membership and receive a $150 discount off the regular membership cost!*
To sign up for either benefit, employees can contact the North Course Pro Shop or email Ryan Scott at rls@portlandmaine.gov. Employees will need to show proof of employment such as an employee ID badge or pay stub.
*Unlimited memberships granted based on availability. Employees are eligible to be placed on the waitlist if none are currently available.
Troubh Ice Arena
Employees can skate for free during public skate hours! Just show your employee ID badge or pay stub to participate.

Riverton and Reiche Pools
Summer is here! Employees can swim for free at the Riverton and Reiche pools during the following blocks:
- Open Swim
- Adult Lap Swim
- Water Aerobics
- Adult Masters Swim
Employees will need to show their employee ID badge or pay stub. This benefit is only available for employees; family members will have to pay the normal rate of admission.
CityFit!
The City of Portland’s CityFit! Committee is dedicated to helping our employees be active and focus on their wellness. CityFit! hosts wonderful, regular events including:
- Pick-your-own: pick $25 worth of berries or apples at local farms;
- Local CSAs that CityFit! Facilitates and subsidizes;
- And a variety of contests, events, and other benefits throughout the year

To Login, go to www.plansource.com/login and enter your username and password.- Username: Your username is the first initial of your first name, up to the first six letters of your last name, and the last four digits of your SSN. For example, if your name is Taylor Williams, and the last four digits of your SSN are 1234, your username would be twillia1234.
- Password: Your initial password is your birthday in the YYYYMMDD format. For example, if your birthdate is June 4, 1979, your password would be 19790604.
- The first time you log in, you will be prompted to change your password.
